A Premier Cru blanc de Bourgogne with the typical mineral notes of the Côte de Beaune
The Estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Beaune, the estate Louis Latour remains an independent family property now run by the eleventh generation. Based in Bourgogne, it is the largest Grand Crus estate in the Côte d'Or, with emblematic plots in Aloxe-Corton. Former coopers turned winemakers, the Latour family combines modern innovation with respect for Burgundian traditions on mythical terroirs.
The Vineyard
The "Genevrières" climat is located in the commune of Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, thrive on marl and limestone soils typical of the appellation.
Winemaking and Aging
Traditional vinification in oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Maturation takes place over 8 to 10 months in medium-toasted French oak barrels, 50 % of which are new barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, imparting complexity and balance to the wine.
Grape Variety
This premier cru is made exclusively from Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of the great white wines of Bourgogne, here expressing the full typicity of the Meursault terroir.
