Service and Storage

This Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières" 2024 can be enjoyed now, but it will continue to evolve favorably in the cellar until around 2034.

The Precision and Minerality of a White Wine from Meursault

The Estate

Founded in 1797, the House of Louis Latour is a leading independent, family-owned institution in Burgundy. Historically based in Aloxe-Corton, it oversees a 48-hectare vineyard, including 28.63 hectares classified as Grand Cru, making it the largest estate of this rank in the region. Committed for nearly twenty years to an ISO 14001-certified environmental approach, the estate is now led by Florent Latour, who succeeded his brother Louis-Fabrice at the end of 2025. This historic estate carries on ancestral expertise while embracing contemporary approaches.

The Vineyard

The Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières" comes from a plot in the Côte de Beaune that takes its name from the juniper bushes (genévriers) that once grew there. Ideally exposed to the southeast, the vines, averaging 35 years of age, thrive on soils composed of stony marl and Jurassic limestone. The estate practices sustainable viticulture here, with yields limited to 40 hectoliters per hectare.

The Vintage

The growing season was marked by cool temperatures, which helped preserve fine natural acidity and ensured balanced ripening of the berries.

Winemaking and Aging

The grapes intended for the Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières" 2024 are harvested exclusively by hand. Traditional fermentation takes place in oak barrels and includes complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for eight to ten months in medium-toast French oak barrels (50% new oak and 50% one-year-old barrels), all crafted by the estate's own cooperage.
