The Power and Refinement of a Burgundy Premier Cru Red
The Estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, the House Louis Latour has upheld a Burgundian family heritage for over two centuries. Heir to a coopering tradition dating back to 1731, this independent house holds the largest Grands Crus estate in the Côte d'Or. Led by the heirs of Louis Latour, it combines viticultural expertise and cooperage mastery on prestigious vineyards.
The Vineyard
The climat "Les Suchots" is located within the Vosne-Romanée appellation, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The Pinot Noir vines, averaging 30 years of age, root in a ferruginous limestone subsoil. Manual harvesting allows the harvest of exceptional grapes with a controlled yield of 38 hectolitres per hectare.
Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking is carried out traditionally in open vats, followed by a complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 10 to 12 months in medium‐toasted French oak barrels, 40 % of which is new wood, sourced from the Louis Latour cooperage.
Grape Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the great Red wines of Burgundy.
