The Estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Maison Louis Latour has perpetuated a Burgundian family heritage for over two centuries. Heir to a cooperage tradition dating back to 1731, this independent house holds the largest domain of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or. Led by the heirs of Louis Latour, it combines viticultural expertise with cooperage mastery on prestigious parcels.
The Vineyard
The "Les Suchots" climat is located in the Vosne-Romanée appellation, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The Pinot Noir vines, averaging 30 years, are rooted in a ferruginous limestone subsoil. Hand harvesting allows for the selection of exceptional grapes with a controlled yield of 38 hectoliters per hectare.
Vinification and Aging
Vinification takes place traditionally in open vats, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels of medium toast, 40% of which are new oak, sourced from the Louis Latour cooperage.
Grape Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy's great Red wines.
