A man of many talents, Michel Chapoutier holds the world record for 100/100 scores awarded by the American critic, Robert Parker. Mathilde, Michel Chapoutier's daughter, has taken over the running of this iconic house, which comprises over 350 hectares of vineyards in the most prestigious appellations of the northern and southern Rhône Valley region.
M. Chapoutier's 2017 Cuvée Pie VI is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine made from vineyards located on the low terraces of the Rhône, on soils composed of rolled pebbles and resting upon Cretaceous marl.
Vinification and ageing
Following the manual harvest, the grapes are completely destemmed. Vinification in concrete vats. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Vatting for 4 to 5 weeks. Minimal extractions in order to favour a passive infusion.
M. Chapoutier's Pie VI 2017 is a blend of Grenache and Syrah.
