Characteristics and tasting notes of the Hermitage "La Chapelle" 2024 by Paul Jaboulet-Aîné

Tasting

Appearance
Displaying a bright, pale golden hue, this cuvée reveals delicate silvery highlights.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with floral notes of linden blossom, harmoniously interwoven with white-fleshed fruit scents, while allowing a beautiful minerality to shine through.

Palate
The palate offers a silky, polished texture, underpinned by a vibrant freshness and a subtle saline touch. The whole extends into a lingering, elegant finish.

Food and wine pairings

Ideal for accompanying fine cuisine, this great white wine pairs wonderfully with noble poultry, fish in sauce or dishes featuring mushrooms such as morels or truffles.

Serving and cellaring

For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature of around 12°C. This great white from the Rhône Valley possesses a remarkable ageing potential and can evolve gracefully over several decades.

The expression of a legendary terroir in the Rhône Valley

The estate

Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet, the Paul Jaboulet-Aîné House is a historic institution located in Tain-l'Hermitage. After being led by the founding family for nearly two centuries, the estate was acquired in 2006 by the Frey family. It stands out for its deep commitment to environmentally respectful viticulture and to preserving its exceptional terroirs.

The vineyard

Stretching across the famous hill of Hermitage, the vineyard benefits from a remarkable geological diversity. The vines flourish on varied soils, ranging from granitic sands to stony terraces composed of limestone and silt, offering ideal conditions for crafting great white wines.

Winemaking and ageing

The berries are hand-harvested into small crates before undergoing rigorous sorting. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts. Ageing is carried out with precision to preserve the purity of the fruit and the minerality of the terroir, encouraging a harmonious evolution of this wine from the Rhône Valley.
