Description
The structure and balance of a white wine from the Rhône Valley
The estate
Iconic name among the great wines of the Northern Rhône Valley, Maison Paul Jaboulet-Aîné was founded in 1834 in Tain-l'Hermitage. The renowned oenologist and winemaker Caroline Frey heads this illustrious house, owned by the Frey family since 2006. Maison Paul Jaboulet-Aîné oversees a 125-hectare vineyard spread across exceptional appellations such as Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Cornas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.
The vineyard
Paul Jaboulet-Aîné's Parallèle 45 cuvée is a Côtes du Rhône wine produced exclusively in organic farming. The vines, averaging 40 years of age, are planted on soils composed of rolled pebbles on the Rhône's right bank and clay-limestone alluvium on the opposite bank.
The wine
The name of this wine refers to the 45th parallel north, which passes near the estate's cellars.
Winemaking and aging
This Rhône wine is the result of a six-month aging in stainless steel tanks on fine lees.
Blend
This 2024 Parallèle 45 white from Paul Jaboulet-Aîné is a blend of Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Clairette.
