Pio Cesare : Barbera d'Alba 2023

A youthful magenta color, the 2023 Barbera d'Alba is fresh and fruity. This vintage was released at the end of 2024 and is the blend of more than 10 different locations in the Barolo and Barbaresco region as well as from villages outside the appellation. The nose is fresh with notes of ripe cherries, candied flowers, delicate baking spice, and just a hint of turned earth. It’s medium-bodied and has snappy freshness, with a plush texture and a hint of savory earth notes, making this a very food-friendly wine, perfect for pasta nights and pizza. Drink over the coming 4-5 years.

Purple fruit bursts from the glass like a summer berry pie cooling on the windowsill, with sweet spices and violet candies playing backup singers. This is classic Barbera doing its favorite dance move: zesty red fruits and flowery notes zip across the palate with that trademark lightning bolt of acidity keeping everything fresh and fun.

A supple and classic barbera with aromas of milk chocolate, violets, black cherries and plums. Fresh, silky, well balanced and not too warm. Medium-bodied. Chewy and polished finish. Drink now.
