A Barbaresco faithful to the expression of Piedmontese Nebbiolo
The estate
Founded in 1958 at the instigation of the village priest, Don Fiorino Marengo, Produttori del Barbaresco originally united nineteen winegrowers from Piedmont who wanted to continue the legacy of Domizio Cavazza, the founder of Barbaresco in 1894. Today, this cooperative brings together more than fifty families who collectively manage around one hundred hectares of Nebbiolo in the Barbaresco area. Each winegrower retains a share in the joint venture, guaranteeing authenticity and uncompromising quality.
The vineyard
The Barbaresco is produced from a selection of grapes from vineyards located in the original area of the Barbaresco appellation. The fifty-four owners manage their plots on calcareous clay soils with sandy veins, with varying exposures to the south, west, and east.
The vintage
The 2022 vintage is characterized by a warm year, which favored the ripeness of the grapes and the expression of ripe red fruit in the finished wine.
Winemaking and ageing
The vinification of the Barbaresco 2022 takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The grapes macerate on the skins for twenty-eight days with pumping over twice a day. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in large oak barrels.
