Tasting

Colour
Dense colour adorned with subtle brown reflections.

Nose
Fresh and expressive, the nose exudes fruity fragrances (black plum, blackcurrant), anise, tobacco and lavender.

Palate
Creamy and elegant, the palate seduces with its fine tannins and its flavours of cocoa, cherry and pipe tobacco stretching to a harmonious and persistent finish.

Service

For optimal tasting, it is recommended to serve between 17 and 18°C, after opening for 2 hours.

Food and wine pairings

This port ideally accompanies many cheeses or even a powerful cigar.

A Vintage Porto from Duriense, ample and beautifully complex

The property

Driven by the ambition to produce great Portuguese wines, Ramos Pinto, a house founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, has implemented a demanding quality strategy from the vineyard to the cellars since its inception.

The vineyard

To do this, the property relies on an exceptional terroir by investing in the best vineyards of the Douro Valley, located in the Duriense region in north-west Portugal. While each has its own unique characteristics, all contribute to the definition of the elegant, fruity and complex style of Ramos Pinto.

The wine

This Vintage Porto is the pure and authentic expression of the great terroirs of Duriense.

The vintage

If the warm and dry winter favours an early and homogeneous bud burst, the rainy and relatively cool spring impacts the highest vineyards. This instability persists until it gives way to a summer whose mildness and low rainfall ensure richness and concentration in the berries.

Vinification and ageing

Foot treading in lagares before fermentation for 4 to 5 days. Ageing for 18 months in vats and old oak barrels.

Blend

Touriga nacional, tinta roriz, tinta barroca.
