Description
The elegance and balance of a great red wine from the Rhône Valley
The property
Driven by a genuine passion for great terroirs and wine, Michel Tardieu founded, with his wife, the Domaine Tardieu-Laurent in 1996. This family house quickly established itself as one of the most respected signatures in the Rhône Valley, thanks to its must-have cuvées.
For two generations, the estate has celebrated the diversity and nobility of emblematic terroirs - Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Condrieu, Hermitage, Vacqueyras, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage... - through precise, elegant and deeply expressive wines, resulting from rigorous work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The wine
The Côte-Rôtie "Vieilles Vignes" is exclusively made from great terroirs of the Côte Brune, including Landonne, Lancement and Chavaroche. With an average age of over 60 years, the vines, planted in the heart of the hillsides, offer concentrated grapes, which produce an intense and structured wine.
Vinification and aging
The vinification is carried out with whole bunches, without destemming, to preserve the authenticity of the fruit. The wine then undergoes a two-stage aging process: 12 months in oak barrels (new and one wine), followed by an additional 12 months in foudres, to develop finesse, complexity and depth.
Blend
Made exclusively from syrah, the flagship grape variety of the Côte-Rôtie, this "Vieilles Vignes" cuvée embodies the pure and refined expression of this exceptional terroir.
