For over twenty years, the exceptional winegrower, Xavier Vignon, has been considered one of the finest experts in the Southern Rhône Valley. Each wine by Xavier Vignon accurately reflects the desire to reveal the identity of the fine Rhône Valley terroirs, all while expressing his own identity: the Xavier Vignon identity. His exclusive innovations only enhance his creativity, such as the Arcane collection, which promises to take wine lovers on an incredible sensory wine tasting experience.
All the wines by Xavier Vignon stem from the Rhône Valley. For the Arcane collection, the winemaker meticulously selects his terroirs in order to explore their full potential. The Arcane L'Étoile stems from the Beaumes de Venise vineyard, located on the fringe of the Gigondas appellation, and from three different vintages: 2015, 2016 and 2017. The vines are grown at an altitude of 600 metres and are planted on Triassic soils made up of sand, limestone and clay, resting at the foot of the Dentelles Sarrasines and the Grand Montmirail.
The Star, a symbol of balance and peace, also pays tribute to a luxuriant surrounding nature. Xavier Vignon's Arcane L'Étoile weaves the 2015, 2016 and 2017 vintages together to create a star that reveals the complexity of the high-altitude terroirs.
Vinification and ageing
This Beaumes de Venise Arcane L'Étoile wine underwent a long maceration without mechanical extraction. The wine is then aged for 15 months, alternating between new French and Austrian barrels (1/3), small concrete vats (1/3) and tuns.
Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%).
The aromatic bouquet reveals aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, dried flowers, lavender and pepper.
Arcane L'Étoile is a full-bodied and elegant wine.
Food and wine pairing
This wine goes perfectly with bordeaux-style ceps, foie gras galettes, pork stew with prunes, grilled duck breast with honey, grilled swordfish, lentils and kale with garlic cream and brie with walnuts.
Service and storage
Arcane L'Étoile by Xavier Vignon will reveal its full aromatic potential until 2030/2035. For an optimal tasting experience, serve between 15 and 17 degrees.
