A gourmet and refined Piedmont wine

The estate

Azienda Agricola Brezza Giacomo e Figli, a prestigious reference in the Barolo appellation, has owned vineyards since 1885. The first vintage of the estate was produced in 1910. The fourth generation of the Brezza family now manages the estate, still driven by the same passion and preserved know-how. Located in the historic heart of the Barolo appellation, in the province of Cuneo in northern Italy, Azienda Agricola Brezza is situated 500 metres from the entrance to the village of Barolo and produces sublime Italian wines.

The vineyard

The Azienda Agricola Brezza estate covers a total area of 31 hectares, with 20 hectares of vines, classified as DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) or DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata). The vineyards of Azienda Agricola Brezza are located on some of the most prestigious plots of the appellation, in the municipalities of Monforte, Novello and Alba. In particular, Azienda Agricola Brezza owns a parcel on Cannubi, which is one of the most famous Barolo crus and the oldest Italian cru, with recognition granted as early as 1752. The estate is run under certified organic farming practices. Combining tradition and innovation, Azienda Agricola Brezza pursues the desire to offer wines that express the unique features of the Langhe region, the characteristics of the grape variety and the different terroirs of Barolo.

The wine

Sarmassa 2011 by Brezza is a Piedmont wine made from a 1-hectare Barolo vineyard. Located at an altitude of 300 metres, the terroir is composed of silt, clay and sand.

The blend

Brezza's Sarmassa 2011 is a 100% Nebbiolo.
