The estate
Originating from the division of the Michel Colin-Deleger family estate in 2004, the Domaine Bruno Colin now extends over nearly 9 hectares in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Trained at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune, Bruno Colin produces wines with a strong identity, seeking to reveal the uniqueness of the terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay and Maranges. His style is distinguished by a pursuit of purity and freshness, moving away from the family classicism to offer a modern and elegant interpretation of great white Burgundies.
The vineyard
This Chassagne-Montrachet Village comes from a mosaic of nine parcels totaling 1.71 hectares. These lieux-dits – Puits Merdreaux, La Canotte, Les Beuttes, Voillenots, En Journoblot, Poirier du Clos, La Platière, Les Chênes and Les Benoites – sit on the region’s typical clay-limestone soils. The vines, aged 9 to 67 years, are cultivated according to sustainable viticulture practices including ploughing and mechanical soil work.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted in the vineyard. Ageing lasts about 10 months in oak barrels, 20 to 25% of which are new oak. This process preserves the fruit expression while adding a subtle oak structure.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
