Tasting Tips for the Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2023 from Domaine Bruno Colin
Tasting
Color
A clear and luminous color, a sign of a carefully crafted and precise wine.
Nose
The nose opens with a beautiful aromatic intensity. Ripe aromas of yellow fruits — mirabelle plum, apricot, peach — emerge with richness and clarity.
Palate
The palate reveals generous breadth from the first attack. The texture is round and generous, with a pronounced fruity presence that stretches with elegance into a savory finish.
Food and Wine Pairings
This wine pairs perfectly with roasted poultry such as turkey or farm chicken. It also goes very well with dishes of white meat in creamy sauces.
The generous and refined style of a Burgundy white wine
The Estate
Created in 2004 following the subdivision of the Michel Colin-Deleger estate, Domaine Bruno Colin embodies a new generation of Burgundy winemakers. With training in Beaune, Bruno Colin cultivates with precision 9 hectares spread across several prestigious appellations. His approach aims to reveal clearly the expressions of each terroir, favoring freshness, finesse and balance.
The Vineyard
This Chassagne-Montrachet comes from a selection of nine parcels totaling 1.71 hectares. The vines, some over 60 years old, take root in clay-limestone soils. A reasoned viticulture is practiced here, with mechanical soil work and respect for the environment.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes are hand-harvested with rigorous sorting directly in the vineyard. The wine is then aged for 10 months in oak barrels, about a quarter of which are new oak. This aging choice preserves the purity of the fruit while adding a subtle structure.
Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay.
