The estate

Founded in 2005, the Champagne Barons de Rothschild House is a creation born of family and passion, the result of an unprecedented alliance between the three branches (Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Clarke, Château Lafite Rothschild), aiming to showcase the majestic terroir of Champagne that, beyond borders, embodies quality and the art of living. "To achieve through great accomplishments" has been the ambition of the Rothschild family for over 250 years, who, drawing on their winemaking experience in Bordeaux, craft exceptional champagnes at the crossroads of expertise and tradition.

Upholding values of excellence, taste, and conviviality, the Champagne Barons de Rothschild House, headquartered since 2007 in Reims near illustrious Champagne estates, unveils cuvées whose distinctive style harmoniously combines finesse, balance, and purity.

The vineyard

The cuvées of the Barons de Rothschild House are made from grapes sourced from exceptional Champagne terroirs, notably the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.

The cuvée

Le Grand Clos is a unique 52-are vineyard located in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, classified as Premier Cru. This historic monopole, whose name appears in the Napoleonic cadastre and was acquired in 2013, is set on deep chalk soils offering optimal exposure. The 40-year-old Chardonnay vines benefit from this exceptional terroir, enclosed by walls built more than two centuries ago.

Vinification and aging

Vinification is carried out entirely in oak barrels, followed by 13 months of aging on fine lees in barrel. This approach gives the champagne its complexity and aromatic depth, complemented by 55 months of bottle aging before release.
