Description

Tasting recommendations for Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "Les Chenevottes" 2022 from Domaine Chanson

Tasting

Color
The color reveals a very pale golden hue with bright reflections.

Nose
The bouquet offers a beautiful aromatic intensity, combining aromas of yellow-fleshed fruits with subtle notes of delicate honey.

Palate
The palate seduces with its breadth and freshness. The lively attack is balanced by a pronounced minerality. The aromatic framework, precise and crystalline, stretches into a persistent finish, accompanied by delicate woody touches.

Food and wine pairings

This wine pairs ideally with pan-seared foie gras, refined shellfish or soft cheeses such as aged crottin de chèvre.

Serving and cellaring

Serve between 12 and 14 °C. Decant in its youth to reveal all its complexity.

A great white wine from Burgundy, combining mineral purity and refined elegance

The estate

Founded in 1750, the house Chanson holds an essential place in the Burgundian wine landscape. It is housed in a 16th-century fortress known as “La Tour des Filles,” whose eight-meter-thick walls now shelter the aging cellar. Maison Chanson is renowned for its low-yield cuvées, a faithful reflection of the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune.

The vineyard

The estate covers 45 hectares exclusively located in premiers and grands crus, in emblematic appellations such as Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Corton.

The wine

The “Les Chenevottes” plot, covering 2 hectares, rests on a stony, clay-limestone soil within the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation. Its east-facing exposure promotes slow maturation under the influence of a cool climate.

Winemaking and aging

The grapes are gently pressed before traditional vinification. Aging lasts 12 months in oak barrels, bringing structure and finesse to the wine without masking the identity of the terroir.

Grape variety

100 % Chardonnay.
