Description
A fine red wine organically produced in Canon-Fronsac
The estate
It was in 1947 that the family of Jean-Francis Pécresse decided to invest in Fronsadais land in the Canon-Fronsac appellation, north of the Bordeaux region. In 2003, Jean-Francis took over the reins of Canon Pécresse with the aim of cultivating the plots of this high-potential terroir with the greatest care and respect for the environment.
The vineyard
The Château Canon Pécresse vineyard covers 4 hectares and lies on clay-limestone soils. In 2020, 3.5 hectares were manually harvested from 14 September to 24 September.
The wine
Château Canon Pécresse 2020 is the first vintage of the area to have been worked on organically.
The winemaking and ageing
After the manual harvests, the grapes are taken to the cellar to begin a precision vinification. Fermentation is carried out at a moderate temperature for 21 days, with a gentle extraction. Then, two thirds of the wine age in 40% new French oak barrels and one third in a concrete tank.
Blend
Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (30%).
