The debut vintage shows fresh black raspberry and spice on the nose. The wine is soft-textured, medium-bodied, supple, and an early-drinking charmer. The wine was produced from 91% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. The wine reached 13.9% ABV and will be aged in 45% new French oak barrels. 87-88 pts

René Gabriel

Deep purple-garnet, dense at the core with violet hues on the rim. Floral notes on a subtly dry attack, revealing underlying red-berry contours, fairly full-bodied. The palate has soft contours, the tannins are integrated, and the wine offers early-drinking pleasure. A new wine backed by Jean-Philippe Jannoueix.

(91% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 37 hl/ha, production 58,000 bottles.) Fresh, floral, silky bouquet, raspberries, strawberries, pepper, tobacco. Firm, powerful palate with good fruit, fine sandy tannins, spicy aromatics, muscular structure, long, firm finish. Can improve further. 16/20 2019 - 2030

Yves Beck

Garnet red. Complex bouquet that balances fruit and ageing, with notes of cocoa beans and red berries. A floral touch. Indulgent and creamy on the attack. On the palate, the wine is elegant and flavourful. The tannins still need to gain finesse, yet they have enough substance to match the acid structure. A wine to discover. Lovely persistence on the finish.

Description

2014 Saint-George-Saint-Emilion from Bordeaux.

The 2014 Cap Saint-Georges is a generous, accessible Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion of good aromatic density, mainly dominated by fleshy dark berry fragrances. If the palate seems very solidly built on generous sappy tannins - well-extracted tannins from perfectly ripped grapes - the finish confirms that once the ageing process will be fully achieved, the wine will be refined.
