Description
A dry white wine from Barsac by Guffens
The estate
Château Closiot is owned by the iconic Mâconnais winemakers, Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens. Out of the love that they equally share for Sauternes wines, the couple acquired this Barsac estate in 2017. They produce critically-acclaimed high quality sweet and dry wines.
The vineyard
Located in Barsac, Château Closiot’s vineyard benefits from morning fog and sunny harvests. These conditions are conducive to the development of botrytis, which leads to concentrated yet light wines.
The wine
C de Sec is a dry white wine produced in the land of sweet wines.
Vinification and ageing
The majority of the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc varieties were vinified in barrels, of which around 25% are new barrels. The Muscadelle variety was vinified in concrete tanks.
