Description
The complexity and finesse of a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé
The estate
Château Corbin bears witness to the history of a rich winegrowing heritage, and since its foundation has told the story of vines and human endeavour. Although the château was built in the 18th century, legend has it that the estate belonged to the famous Black Prince who fought the French at the dawn of the Hundred Years' War. Today, the estate has been in the same family for almost a hundred years. An ancestral passion for winemaking has been passed down from generation to generation. Anabelle Cruse, supported by her husband Sébastien Bardinet, safeguards the estate with her hard work and determination, restoring it to its former glory.
The vineyard
Château Corbin 2022 is a Saint-Émilion wine produced from a 13-hectare vineyard. The vines are 32 years old on average and are planted on clay and sandy-clay soils with a ferric clay subsoil.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, followed by a densimetric sorting. The grapes are vinified by plot in small, temperature-controlled bare cement vats, with pumping-over. Vatting from 17 to 27 days.
Blend
Château Corbin 2022 is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
