The typicality of a red wine from Saint-Estèphe unveiled by Château Cos Labory
The estate
Located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux, Château Cos Labory owes its name to the word "caux," meaning “the stony hill,” in reference to its location on the aptly named gravel hill "Cos".
The vineyard
This 18-hectare vineyard is planted in Quaternary gravel soils with remarkable drainage, allowing the vines access to water in the event of water stress.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvests by grape varieties, spread over 3 periods. Merlot from 16 to 18 September, Cabernet Sauvignon from 22 to 30 September and Petit Verdot on 23 September. Ageing is carried out in barrels, of which 50% are new.
Blend
The 2020 Château Cos Labory is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%), Merlot (42%) and Petit Verdot (10%).
