The depth and elegance of a great Provence wine
The Estate
The modern history of Château d'Esclans began in 2006 with its acquisition by Sacha Lichine. Located in La Motte in Provence, in the heart of the Var, this estate has become a true global benchmark. A pioneer in creating premium cuvées, the estate has greatly contributed to the international reputation of Provence wines. Since 2019, the Moët Hennessy group has become the estate's majority shareholder, while Sacha Lichine has remained in operational management, further reinforcing its unmissable status in the world of luxury.
The Vineyard
Located within the Côtes de Provence appellation, the vineyard spreads across hillsides with clay-limestone soils. The grapes used for this cuvée come from old vines aged between 50 and 80 years. To preserve optimal freshness and avoid any oxidation, harvesting is carried out exclusively in the morning. The berries then undergo an extremely rigorous manual and optical sorting process.
Winemaking and Ageing
The production of Les Clans 2024 stands out through a highly refined technical approach. After closed-circuit pressing with no maceration, the juices ferment in 600-litre demi-muids under strict temperature control. Ageing then continues in these same oak barrels for nearly eleven months, with regular lees stirring carried out twice a week to enrich the wine's texture.
Grape Varieties
This blend is mainly composed of Grenache, complemented by Rolle.
