Château de Chantegrive "Caroline" 2023

Like the regular format from the Lévêque family, this wine shows off appealing lemon and lime aromas and flavors, as well as basswood, acacia, and a more pronounced white peach. Oak aging with lees stirring adds richness and a tasty, toasty character that makes the wine ideal for richer gastronomy.

Juicy, fresh, and crisp yellow citrus, flowers, and pineapples are easy to pick up on the nose. The palate is sweet, ripe, energetic, and fresh, with loads of juicy yellow citrus in the creamy finish. Drink from 2025–2032. 92 pts.

A delicious wine, showcasing an elegant use of oak, well balanced, with a saline finish, ripe without being heavy; this is good quality. Aged on fine lees in 50% new oak barrels, with regular lees stirring. One to look out for, a great vintage at this estate.

Complex, spicy, white flowers, green apple; creamy attack, firm acidity, delicate fruit, juicy, fresh, saline finish. Has character.

The 2023 Cuvée Caroline Blanc has a nicely detailed, slightly more minerally, reductive nose than its peers, one that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh, with a keen line of acidity. Gentle and lilting in style, it has a more oily, resinous finish that lends intrigue. Good persistency.
