Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for Château Giscours 2025

Tasting

Nose
The aromatic bouquet reveals great purity.

Palate
This wine offers a precise, unwavering, and vibrant style. It stands out for its natural elegance, typically Bordeaux, supported by a precise, fine, and velvety tannic structure. A सुंदर saline tension, carried by a crisp acidity, brings remarkable freshness and extends into a finish of outstanding persistence.

Food and wine pairings
This cuvée pairs beautifully with pan-seared duck breast accompanied by a blackcurrant reduction, or braised lamb with rosemary. For more original pairings, a wild mushroom risotto, duck rillettes, or even a dark chocolate tart will enhance this wine. However, it is not recommended to pair it with very spicy or highly citrusy dishes.

Serving and cellaring
Although Château Giscours 2025 is approachable in its youth for earlier enjoyment, it has significant aging potential, making it ideal for patient collectors.

The elegance of a Margaux wine signed Château Giscours

The estate
The winegrowing history of Château Giscours truly began in 1552 under the impetus of Pierre de Lhomme, although the origins of the site date back to 1330. Located in the heart of the Bordeaux region, this historic estate has experienced a true renaissance since its acquisition in 1995. Today, the Albada Jelgersma family, with Alexander van Beek as managing director, oversees the destiny of this great name. This prestigious estate stands out for its exceptional terroir and celebrates, with this vintage, thirty years of passionate stewardship, confirming its essential status.

The vineyard
The estate covers 95 hectares under production within the prestigious Margaux appellation. The vines, with an average age of 45 years, thrive on three distinct gravelly rises composed of deep Garonne-origin gravels. This poor, well-drained terroir, combined with viticultural practices incorporating organic and biodynamic farming, allows for grapes of exceptional quality.

The vintage
The harvest took place under favorable conditions from September 3 to 25, 2025. This year marks a symbolic milestone, celebrating thirty years of the Albada Jelgersma family at the head of the estate, and continues the line of the property's greatest successes.

Winemaking and aging
The berries undergo rigorous manual and optical sorting. Vinification then takes place in concrete and stainless steel vats, with a 35-day maceration maintained at a temperature of 28 °C. Finally, the wine is aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new.

Grape varieties
Château Giscours 2025 is a blend of 64% cabernet sauvignon, 31% merlot, and 5% cabernet franc.
