Description
Château La Fleur de Gay 2016: a Pomerol with magnificent tannins
The Château La Fleur de Gay is a red wine made exclusively with Merlot and produced in the Pomerol appellation. The vines are planted on a 2-hectare vineyard and benefit from three distinct types of soils: clay, a Günz gravel ridge and Günz gravel on clay subsoils. The wine is aged in new barrels for 18 months. Château La Fleur de Gay produces wines in a in style that combine Bordeaux (for the blending science) and Burgundy (for the expression of selected plots). The 2016 vintage harvest for Château La Fleur de Gay took place on September 29 and 30, 2016.
At tasting, the Château La Fleur de Gay 2016 reveals a beautiful expression of the diversity of its terroir. It is very aromatic on the nose. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft tannins. You can then enjoy tasty touches of black fruit (blackberry, blueberry) that mingle with more spicy (clove) and vegetal flavours.
The tasting note is intended to describe the general profile of the wine at a given moment. Be aware that the wine can evolve in the bottle over time and express other organoleptic qualities.
