Description
A full and aromatic Margaux wine
The estate
In 1697, the estate was sold to Simon Malescot, adviser to King Louis XIV. In 1827 the Count of Saint-Exupéry, great-grandfather of the famous aviator, bought the property. Château Malescot St Exupéry, three hundred years old and the third Grand Cru Classé, has one of the most beautiful terroirs of Margaux, the emblematic appellation of the Left Bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
Château Malescot St Exupéry is a Margaux wine from a 23-hectare vineyard located in the heart of the appellation.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand in crates and sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel and cement vats and lasts 8 to 12 days without yeast. The wine is then matured on its fine lees for 12 to 14 months in barrels (70% of which are new), with stirring.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (55%)
Merlot (40%)
Petit Verdot (5%).
