A delicate and charming Margaux wine
The property
In 1697, the property was sold to Simon Malescot, advisor to King Louis XIV. In 1827, the Count of Saint-Exupéry, great-grandfather of the famous aviator, became the owner. The Château Malescot St Exupéry, three centuries old and third Grand Cru Classé, has one of the most beautiful terroirs of Margaux, an emblematic appellation of the left bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
Château Malescot St Exupéry is a Margaux wine from a 23-hectare vineyard located in the heart of the appellation.
Vinification and aging
Harvested manually in crates, the grapes are sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar. Carried out in thermoregulated steel and cement vats, the alcoholic fermentation lasting 8 to 12 days without yeast addition is followed by aging on fine lees for 14 to 16 months in barrels (50% new barrels) accompanied by stirring.
Blend
Merlot (53%)
Cabernet sauvignon (40%)
Petit verdot (7%).
