A Provence red wine from an exceptional estate
The property
Located in Bormes-les-Mimosas, in the heart of Provence, the Château Malherbe occupies a unique 25-hectare preserved terroir, on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, near Cap Bénat, Fort de Brégançon and Pointe du Diable. For four generations, the Ferrari family has passionately cultivated the lands of the Malherbe estate.
The vineyard
The estate, spread over 25 hectares, includes two distinct terroirs that give birth to two ranges of wines: "Malherbe" and "Pointe du Diable". The "Malherbe" range, from a clayey-schist terroir, offers ample and solar aging wines, marked by a strong minerality. The "Pointe du Diable" range, located on the edge of the coast on a sandy soil enriched with quartz, produces fine and elegant wines, with a refreshing iodized touch thanks to the influence of sea breezes.
The vintage
The year 2022 was marked by favorable climatic conditions, allowing optimal maturation of the grapes. The manual harvest was carried out in mid-September, under ideal conditions.
Vinification
Vinification begins with a short maceration, during which pigeage is carried out, followed by careful racking and pressing. Fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts and is completed by malolactic fermentation to improve the digestibility of the wine. Aging continues for 10 months in Burgundian pieces.
