Description
The elegance and vivacity of a great white wine from Provence
The estate
Nestled in Bormes-les-Mimosas, in the heart of Provence, the Château Malherbe extends over a preserved vineyard of 25 hectares, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. This privileged site, located not far from Cap Bénat, Fort de Brégançon and Pointe du Diable, benefits from a remarkable natural environment. For four generations, the Ferrari family has been cultivating the vine with passion and demand.
The vineyard
This estate of the Côtes de Provence consists of two distinct terroirs that give birth to two singular expressions: the "Malherbe" cuvée, from clayey-schist soils, stands out for its structured, generous wines with a beautiful minerality, made for aging. The "Pointe du Diable" cuvée, born from sandy soils rich in quartz by the sea, offers wines of great finesse, marked by an elegant iodized freshness brought by the sea breezes.
The vinification
The harvest is carried out manually, with particular care to preserve the integrity of the berries. These are gently pressed whole. Fermentation is initiated with indigenous yeasts, followed by a malolactic fermentation. The aging, lasting four months, takes place on fine lees in stainless steel tanks, in order to preserve the purity and aromatic complexity of the wine.
Blend
Ugni blanc and sémillon.
