Description
A Classified Grand Cru from Saint-Émilion by Château Monbousquet
The estate
Located to the southwest of the village of Saint-Émilion, the Château Monbousquet is a Grand Cru Classé whose 32-hectare vineyard features a vast mosaic of terroirs. The vines, with an average age of 42 years, are planted on sandy and sandy-clay soils with an iron pan between 60 and 80 cm below the surface, as well as on sandy-gravelly and sandy-clayey soils.
Winemaking and ageing
Hand-harvested, the grapes undergo a rigorous selection process before being vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The ageing of this Saint-Émilion wine takes place in barrels (50 % new oak and 50 % one-wine barrels) with a final Blend just before bottling.
Blend
Château Monbousquet 2020 is the result of a blend of Merlot (70 %), Cabernet Franc (15 %) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15 %).
