Description
A rich and delicate Moulis red wine
The estate
In 2008, the Cuvelier family, owners of Clos Fourtet, a Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé, acquired Château Poujeaux. Since then, the beautiful Médoc estate has undergone a real renaissance. Managed by Mathieu Cuvelier and Christophe Labenne, the vinification process is carried out under the guidance of the consultant-oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt, Château Poujeaux is one of the finest references in the Moulis appellation, located on the left bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
Situated in the north-east of the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, the vineyard of Château Poujeaux spreads across a 70-hectare single-block of vines. The vines are 30 years old on average and benefit from an exceptional location on günzienne gravel hills. This fine terroir fully provides for the Médoc grape varieties. This harmonious terroir/grape variety relationship gives rise to fine Moulis wines that combine a dense and elegant
The grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
