Description
The typical nature of a fine red wine from Haut-Médoc by Sénéjac
The estate
It was back in the 16th century that the first vines of Château Sénéjac were planted. This area, acquired by the Bignon-Cordier family in 1999, represents a very important reference of Haut-Médoc.
The vineyard
In a truly green setting with plenty of biodiversity, the Château Sénéjac vineyard extends over 41 hectares of vines on an estate totaling 150 hectares. Vines aged 35 years on average are planted in Pyrenean gravel soils deposited during the Quaternary on a clay-gravelly outcropping of Pian-Médoc. These gravel soils provide effective soil drainage and help regulate the water stress suffered by the vine in the event of a lack of water.
The blend
Cabernet sauvignon (51%), merlot (30%), cabernet franc (11%), petit verdot (8%).
The ageing
15 months in barrels, of which 30% new oak.
