Inspired by one of the artist's most iconic works, the new motif reinterprets the famous Dom Pérignon shield, creating the very essence of this limited edition.
2018 is the year of the ideal climatic trajectory. The sun is omnipresent, with 25% more sunshine than average in spring and summer heat surpassing the records of 2003. The water trajectory is ideal: moisture in the soils through to flowering thanks to winter and spring rains, then a drier summer introducing a progressive stress favourable to quality. Despite generous yields, ripening is rapid. The fifth August harvest and the earliest ever, starting around 20 August: the sanitary quality of the grapes is exceptional and their ripeness reaches record levels, for both the Chardonnays and the Pinot Noirs. A vintage with extraordinary climate and harvest conditions.
Nose
From the very first notes, the 2018 vintage reveals itself with a rich and profound clarity. It evokes the juicy fruits of a summer orchard: tropical notes of yellow kiwi and mango, green notes of a summer salad, ivy and balsamic plants.
Palate
On the palate, the wine unfolds, characterised by its vivacity and richness. Full-bodied and dense, it envelops and coats the palate. Its generosity is underpinned by a subtle bitterness. The finish leaves a delicate note of apricot.
Dom Pérignon Rosé expresses that timeless desire to explore boundaries, capturing the raw power of the red of the Pinot Noir grape variety in a luminous blend. Tempered by a slow and masterful transformation over twelve years of cellar ageing, it is a vibrant incarnation of both light and shadow. 2010 sees a cool start to the year followed by a dry summer; intense rains in August encourage the onset of botrytis on the Pinot Noir. A selective harvest produces a balanced vintage, rich in its contrasts.
Nose
The nose opens on a fruit of beautiful maturity, with a tropical accent. It then reveals brilliant red fruits, the depth of a generous flesh, between quince and chocolate, before unveiling fresher notes. It culminates with sweet spices: cardamom and vanilla.
Palate
The wine shows a surprising ease, through its power in lightness, its intensity and precision. On the palate, everything is delicate, dense and silky. 2010 reveals the coherence of its flesh, its grained texture, over zesty and iodine-tinged bitterness. The finish unfolds, remarkably cohesive, in elegance and majesty.
