Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2025 from Domaine des Sénéchaux
Tasting notes
Colour
The colour is a brilliant golden yellow.
Nose
The nose is generous and inviting. It opens with white- and yellow-fleshed fruits (ripe peach, pear, apple), joined by touches of exotic fruit such as mango. Gooseberry and notes of green herbs bring freshness. A hint of vanilla, at times accompanied by a light caramel note, completes the picture.
Palate
On the palate, ripe fruit dominates, with peach, pear and apple. The texture is full and ample, with moderate richness. Caramel and vanilla blend with the fruit, while notes of citrus and green fruit lend vivacity and prevent any heaviness. The finish is intense and persistent, with ripe fruit, gentle spices and a mineral touch.
Food and wine pairing
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is delightful as an aperitif, served well chilled. At the table, it pairs with seafood, white meats in a creamy sauce, scallops with mushrooms or a lightly spiced shellfish risotto. The estate also suggests serving it with a fruit cake.

The estate
Located in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, in the Rhône Valley, Domaine des Sénéchaux takes its name from the Bois Sénéchaux district, where vines are documented as far back as the 14th century. It belongs to the Cazes family, owners of Lynch-Bages, and to the Pradon family, co-owners.
The vineyard
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes from a few hectares of vines located in the commune of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The shallow soils, a mix of sand, clay and limestone, give the grapes pronounced salinity and minerality.
The vintage
The 2025 season began with soils well supplied with water, thanks to the rains of the previous autumn and winter. Budburst was even. Spring alternated between sunny and rainy spells, and disease pressure was kept under control thanks to the close monitoring of the teams. Summer brought episodes of intense heat, and veraison confirmed the early nature of the year. In September, rain arrived without the mistral, which called for very fine adjustments to the harvest dates in order to preserve freshness, balance and aromatic precision.
Vinification and ageing
For this 2025 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, the grapes are hand-harvested and then sorted. Pressing is gentle. After cold settling, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. Ageing is carried out in a way that preserves the freshness of the blend.
