Description
A great red wine from Burgundy combining liveliness and refinement
The estate
Rooted in Nuits-Saint-Georges since the beginning of the 19th century, the Faiveley family embodies the soul of Burgundy's wine-growing. Since 2005, the family succession has been ensured by Erwan Faiveley and his sister Eve, representing the seventh generation. Together, they continue with demand and passion the work of their ancestors. Today, the Domaine Faiveley extends over more than 120 hectares, making Faiveley one of the key players in the region, both in terms of the size of its vineyard and the remarkable quality of its wines, including numerous Grands Crus and Premiers Crus.
The vineyard
While the roots of the estate are in Nuits-Saint-Georges, its influence has gradually expanded to the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. Domaine Faiveley produces cuvées from exceptional terroirs, with a viticultural heritage composed of 12 Grands Crus and 25 Premiers Crus, true jewels of the Burgundy vineyard.
The wine
The "Les Ouvrées Rodin" cuvée comes from a small jewel: a plot of less than one hectare planted in 1966 within the famous Grand Cru Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. Planted on limestone scree soils, these old vines give birth to a wine that is both precise, refined and of great aromatic complexity.
This unique bottle pays tribute to a family history deeply rooted in culture: Marthe, Erwan Faiveley's great-grandmother, was related to Maurice Fenaille, patron of Auguste Rodin, whose cuvée proudly bears the name.
The grape variety
This Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru "Les Ouvrées Rodin" 2018 from Domaine Faiveley is a 100% pinot noir.
