Description
The elegance and freshness of a great Burgundy red wine
The estate
Established in Nuits-Saint-Georges since 1825, in the heart of the famous Côte de Nuits, the Faiveley family embodies Burgundian excellence for seven generations. Leading the estate since 2005, Erwan Faiveley, supported by his sister Eve, passionately continues an exceptional winemaking heritage. With over 120 hectares of vineyards, Domaine Faiveley is among the largest and most renowned in Burgundy. It is particularly distinguished by the richness of its vineyard, including prestigious plots classified as Grands Crus and Premiers Crus.
The vineyard
Initially rooted in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley has expanded over the years to Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. Today, it oversees a remarkable wine heritage with 12 Grands Crus and 25 Premiers Crus, spread across the finest appellations of Burgundy.
The wine
From a tiny parcel of 0.81 acres planted in 1966 within the Grand Cru Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, the wine "Les Ouvrées Rodin" beautifully illustrates the finesse and depth of great Burgundian terroirs. The old vines, rooted in soils rich in limestone scree, give rise to a cuvée of great complexity, where elegance rhymes with intensity.
A true tribute to the alliance of art and wine, this bottle takes its name from a family story: that of Marthe, Erwan Faiveley's great-grandmother, linked to Auguste Rodin's patron, Maurice Fenaille.
Grape variety
This Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru "Les Ouvrées Rodin" 2020 from Domaine Faiveley is 100% Pinot Noir.
