Description
A generous and vibrant Loire white wine
The estate
Transmitted from generation to generation, Domaine Vincent Pinard has established itself as one of the major references of the Sancerre vineyards in the Loire. Florent and Clément, sons of Vincent and Cosette Pinard, have joined the family estate, bringing their dynamism and passion, thus contributing to the reputation of this exceptional property. The Vincent Pinard range exemplifies a perfect mastery of the terroir, with single-vineyard cuvées of great accuracy and precision, both in white wines and in red wines.
The vineyard
Located in Bué, near Sancerre, the estate covers 17 hectares of vines spread over limestone and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is farmed without herbicides, with natural grass cover and soil work under the rows. Committed to an organic approach, Domaine Vincent Pinard uses neither insecticides nor acaricides nor rot-preventing products.
The wine
The estate's Sancerre Petit Chemarin is a single-vineyard selection from the eponymous lieu-dit, in the commune of Bué. The vines, planted in 1968, rest on Kimmeridgian caillottes and limestone stones typical of the Sancerrois.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted on a table before being pressed whole by pneumatic pressing. The ageing of this Sancerre white wine is split between four barrels, including one new barrel, and stainless steel tanks, in order to preserve all its brightness and purity.
Blend
The 2013 Petit Chemarin is made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc (100%).
