Description
The aromatic richness and indulgence of a rosé wine from Provence
The estate
The young Alsatian agricultural engineer, Marcel Ott, moved to Provence in 1896 with the ambition for this vineyard to produce great wines despite being ravaged by phylloxera.
Today, the OTT family is perpetuating this know-how to produce a range of rosé, red and white Provence wines from three estates: Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan.
Created by René Ott in 1903, the iconic and immediately recognisable Domaines Ott bottle showcases the quality of great Provence wines.
Domaine Ott joined the Louis Roederer house in 2004.
The vineyard
The Clos Mireille enjoys an exceptional location in La Londe-Les-Maures. This very old terroir, which benefits from a maritime influence, is planted on soils of clay shales. This microclimate and these exceptional terroirs produce great wines.
The vintage
2020 was marked by very mild temperatures and concentrated rainfall from October to March.
The mild winter encouraged budding in early March, followed by an optimal, uniform flowering thanks to good spring conditions. The summer heat allowed the vines to calmly continue their cycle. Harvest began on 12 August to ensure maximum balance and freshness for the vintage.
Blend
The Côtes de Provence Clos Mireille “Rosé Cœur de Grain” 2020 is made from a blend of Grenache (69%), Cinsault (24%), Syrah (2%) and Rolle (5%).
Tasting
Colour
The wine is bright and crystalline, with beautiful salmon hues.
Nose
Rich, the nose unveils delicious fruity aromas (melon, peach, strawberry).
Palate
The beautifully fresh palate seduces with its liveliness. Notes of lemon zest mix with aromas of tangy, exotic fruits as well as iodised notes. The palate is full-bodied and generous. Crisp and delicious, the finish is beautifully persistent.
