An exceptional Chambolle-Musigny from a prestigious terroir of the Côte de Nuits
The property
Founded in 1825, the Domaine Faiveley is a pillar of Burgundian viticulture, extending over 134 hectares between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte Chalonnaise. Currently led by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, the estate combines tradition and modernity under the supervision of the oenologist Jérôme Flous. The viticultural practices respect the terroir, with aging in oak barrels in 19th century cellars. The estate stands out for its founding role in the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and its mastery of prestigious terroirs, notably the Clos-de-Vougeot.
The vineyard
The "Les Fuées" climate is ideally located north of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, in the extension of the Grand Cru Les Bonnes Mares. This 0.19 hectare plot benefits from an east/south-east exposure and rests on a limestone soil covered with a thin layer of red clay. This particular geological configuration gives the Chambolle-Musigny a characteristic elegance and finesse, while providing structure and aging potential.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest. After a short pre-fermentation maceration, the vatting lasts between 18 and 20 days at controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for 14 to 16 months in the estate's 19th century vaulted cellars, in oak barrels of which about two thirds are new. The barrels are selected for their fine grain and moderate toasting, in order to respect the fruit and the typicity of the terroir.
Blend
100% pinot noir
