Description
Balanced and smooth, a fine Californian wine
The estate
After spending 17 years in Bordeaux vineyards, Stephan Asseo set out to discover California. Indeed, Stephan Asseo founded his estate: L'Aventure Winery by establishing his vineyard on virgin land in the superb region of Paso Robles, between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The wine
Estate Cuvée by L'Aventure is a reference among fine Paso Robles wines.
The vintage
The 2020 vintage was marked by strong heat, which caused the vineyards to grow prematurely. Although a heatwave was recorded at the beginning of September during the harvest, the rest of the grape harvest was carried out under pleasant weather conditions.
Vinification and ageing
Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which are new and 20% are second-fill barrels.
The blend
Syrah (45%)
Cabernet Sauvignon (40%)
Petit Verdot (15%).
Estate Cuvee 2020 by L’Aventure: Characteristics and tasting tips
The tasting
This vintage resonates with the 2012, 2014 and 2016 vintages, whose typical "Californian" style exudes aromas of blackcurrant and graphite, a beautiful acidity as well as a rare balance and a delicately velvety texture.
