L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne is an exceptional wine, first created in 1990 by Pierre Dubourdieu and his son, Denis. Denis Dubourdieu wanted to produce a great 100% Sauvignon Blanc wine with noble rot. In that first vintage, the grapes were harvested at the beginning of November and were extremely concentrated, with great aromatic richness.

Produced in the Sauternes appellation, L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2018 shows off Château Doisy-Daëne’s expertise in the production of great sweet wines.

Since 1990, L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne has been produced only in great vintages and in very limited quantities.

The L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2018 presents a unique and racy style, combining power and freshness. This wine shows itself to be exceptionally aromatic, revealing notes of apricot and pineapple, enhanced by fresh citrus notes, like ripe orange, lemon and orange blossom, along with sweet spices. Full of freshness, the palate offers a nice acidity, developing delicious and elegant fruit flavours. This vintage is showing a very persistent length. The L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2018 offers a magnificent expression of the potential of noble rot and the Barsac terroir in a great vintage.
