Description
The Mineral Elegance and Complexity of a Grand Cru from the Côte de Nuits
The Estate
Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the House of Louis Jadot is an unmissable institution in Burgundy. Although the family began growing vines in 1826, it was over the following decades that the estate built up an extensive vineyard holding. Sold in 1985 to the American Kopf family, its current owner, the estate is now led by Thomas Seiter. Louis Jadot upholds a philosophy of minimal-intervention winemaking, allowing the identity of each terroir to express itself, as exemplified by this Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru "Dom. Louis Jadot" 2024.
The Vineyard
The Bonnes-Mares appellation covers around 15 hectares, mostly located within the commune of Chambolle-Musigny. It is at the heart of this exceptional terroir that the Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru "Dom. Louis Jadot" 2024 is born. The estate's plot, covering 0.27 hectares, forms a long, narrow strip running up the slope from bottom to top, between 250 and 280 metres in altitude. Facing east-southeast, these vines benefit from great geological diversity, combining white limestone soils on the upper section with darker, clay- and marl-rich soil on the lower section.
Grape Variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
