Tasting

Colour
The colour reveals a brilliant pale yellow hue, enhanced by delicate greenish tints that reflect this wine's lovely freshness.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet proves wonderfully complex, opening with alluring notes of sweet almond and ripe yellow peach.

Palate
Generous and rounded, the palate offers a fine structure. It unfolds delicious flavours of apricot and almond, lifted by a spicy touch of peppermint. The finish stands out for its remarkable persistence and length.

Food and wine pairing

This white wine pairs beautifully with seafood such as oysters, grilled lobster or delicate fish like sole meunière. It also elegantly accompanies a charcuterie board, goat's cheese, or Burgundian specialities such as snails or pike quenelles.

Serving and storage

For optimal enjoyment, this Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2024 should be served at a temperature between 11 and 13°C. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will continue to develop in the cellar until around 2029.

The elegance and richness of a white wine from Chassagne-Montrachet by Louis Latour

The estate

Officially founded in 1797, Maison Louis Latour is a true institution in Burgundy. Based in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Aloxe-Corton, it oversees a vineyard of around 50 hectares, more than half of which is classified as Grand Cru. Now run by Florent Latour, this historic family estate stands out for its independence and unique expertise, which notably includes its own in-house cooperage. The estate is committed to sustainable viticulture in order to produce wines that reflect the purity of their terroirs.

The vineyard

Located to the south of the Côte de Beaune, the terroir of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation flourishes on slopes enjoying ideal sun exposure, at altitudes ranging from 220 to 325 metres. The vines dedicated to this cuvée, with an average age of 30 years, draw their complexity from soils composed of clay and limestone. This distinctive geology ensures perfect drainage while encouraging deep rooting, allowing the vines to fully express the minerality and richness of this terroir.

Winemaking and ageing

The grapes for this Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2024 are harvested entirely by hand to preserve the integrity of the berries. After gentle pneumatic pressing, the must undergoes traditional alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on the lees for 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, crafted by the estate's own cooperage, with 15% new barrels used to preserve the wine's fruity balance.
