A Delicate and Balanced White Burgundy Premier Cru
The Estate
Established in 1797 in Beaune by Jean Latour, the Louis Latour estate is today the largest owner of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or. Run by the eleventh generation of the family, this independent Burgundian house owns prestigious vineyards in Corton, Chambertin and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. A pioneer of modern winemaking techniques since the 19th century, Louis Latour combines family tradition with innovation, preserving an exceptional winemaking heritage while respecting the Burgundian terroirs.
The Vineyard
The "Perrières" climat is one of the jewels of Meursault, renowned for its lean, rocky soils of marl and limestone. These vines, with an average age of 35 years, flourish on this exceptional terroir, imparting wines with characteristic minerality and remarkable complexity, making this parcel one of the appellation's benchmarks.
Winemaking and Aging
The Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières" undergoes traditional vinification in oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, 50% new from the Louis Latour cooperage, imparting structure and aromatic complexity to the wine.
Grape Variety
This Premier Cru is made exclusively from Chardonnay, the emblematic variety of Burgundy's great white wines.
