The Estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Beaune, the Louis Latour estate remains an independent family property now managed by the 11th generation. Based in Bourgogne, it is the largest owner of Côte d'Or Grand Crus, with prestigious parcels in Aloxe-Corton and Corton. Former coopers turned winemakers, the Latour family has combined tradition and innovation for over two centuries.

The Vineyard

The "Poruzots" climat, whose name evokes a "stony place," benefits from a south-facing exposure favorable to grape ripening. The vines, averaging 35 years old, thrive on marl and limestone soils typical of Meursault, a commune renowned for exceptional Premiers Crus. These marl-limestone terroirs in the southern Côte d'Or offer ideal conditions for expressing Chardonnay.

Winemaking and Aging

Hand harvesting allows for a rigorous selection of the grapes. The traditional winemaking of the Meursault Premier Cru "Poruzots" 2022 is carried out in oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, 50% of which are new oak, all sourced from the Louis Latour cooperage.

Grape Variety

100% Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of Bourgogne's great white wines.
