The estate
Founded in 1850 on the Priorat terroir in the south of Catalonia by Juan Extrems Doix, the Mas Doix bodega is widely recognised and rewarded for the quality of its wines and is known as a benchmark for great Spanish wines.
The Celler Mas Doix cellar was created in 1998 by the Doix & Llagostera families in the village of Poboleda, at the heart of the Priorat region and bordering the Montsant mountains and the Siurana Valley.
Produced in limited quantities, Mas Doix wines express the purity and excellence of the Priorat terroir with refinement, authenticity and finesse.
The vineyard
The Les Crestes 2017 cuvée by Mas Doix is produced from vineyards located on the hills of Llicorella at between 350 and 450 metres above sea level. Planted on schistous and friable soils, these old vines are managed with certified organic farming and produce very low yields, but which are of an exceptional quality.
Vinification and ageing
The manually harvested grapes are destemmed then vinified according to grape variety. Fermentation in stainless steel vats. Ageing for 8 months in two-year-old French oak barrels.
Blend
Les Crestes 2017 by Mas Doix is a wine made from a blend of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah.
