The subtle and elegant white 2021 Salix, a blend of 67% Garnatxa Blanca, 15% Pedro Ximénez and 18% Macabeo, has 13% alcohol (and an incredible pH of 2.8!) and reflects a cooler year with moderate ripeness and very good freshness and acidity. The oak is neatly integrated and folded into the wine, which has energy and light. It has pungent flavors, with depth and complexity, very Mediterranean and Priorat while keeping the poise. 2,120 bottles were filled in February 2022.

A well-balanced and intense Priorat white wine

The estate

Founded by Juan Extrems Doix in 1850 in the Priorat region, in the south of Catalonia, the Mas Doix bodega swiftly won awards for the quality of its wines and was regarded as a benchmark for great Spanish wines.

The Celler Mas Doix winery was founded by the Doix & Llagostera families in 1998. Located in the village of Poboleda, in the heart of the Priorat region, the estate is bordered by the Serra de Montsant mountain chain and the Siurana Valley.

Produced in limited quantities, Max Doix wines express the purity and excellence of the Priorat terroir and offer a refined, authentic and fine expression.

The vineyard

Mas Doix's Salix 2021 is a Priorat wine that stems from vineyards located between 350 and 450 metres above sea level and on the "llicorella" hills. This terroir is mainly composed of slate.
