A Sancerre Blanc of remarkable mineral purity by Pinard Brothers
The estate
Officially created in 2023, the Pinard Brothers brand embodies the innovative project of brothers Florent and Clément Pinard, based in Bué in the Sancerrois area. Led by Florent as President and Clément as Managing Director, this structure farms around 2 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc under certified organic and biodynamic viticulture. Pinard Brothers stands out for its original model: the brothers cultivate plots by developing partnerships with owners while applying their rigorous methods, making it possible to explore new Sancerre terroirs through a precise single-parcel expression.
The vineyard
La Moussière’s vineyard stretches across the hillsides of Sancerre, between 250 and 275 meters above sea level. The vines, averaging 50 years of age, are rooted in Kimmeridgian terroir made up of caillottes and limestone stones typical of the Sancerrois, resting on a limestone subsoil. The vineyard is farmed under AB Ecocert certified organic viticulture. The soils are worked without herbicides, through hoeing, plowing, and digging. The harvest is carried out by hand in open crates.
Winemaking and aging
Following a long, gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation for La Moussière 2023 takes place with indigenous yeasts produced from the estate’s parcels. Aging lasts 11 months in large oak vats and barrels. This white wine from the Loire is neither fined nor filtered before bottling.
Grape variety
100% Sauvignon Blanc.
