Description
A Barbaresco wine with a seductive structure and aromatic richness
The estate
A pioneer and visionary, Cesare Pio swiftly realised the qualitative potential of the great terroirs of Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera. Founded in 1881 and looking after a 50-hectare terroir, the Pio Cesare estate has been producing great Piedmont wines for five generations, the deliberately limited quantity of which magnifies the utter excellence of these wines.
The vineyard
Pio Cesare's Il Bricco 2015 is a Barbaresco wine made from a rigorous selection of grapes from three parcels of the family's Cascina Il Bricco vineyard, located in the village of Treiso. This terroir owes its uniqueness to its altitude and particularly cool climate.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification in steel vats at fairly high temperatures. Skin maceration for 30 days. Aged for 30 months in barrels.
The blend
Nebbiolo (100%).
